Lost Light Recordings – founded by UWE lecturer Lee Elkins – have published alumni Lewis Khan’s 5 year photographic study on two London hospitals, titled ‘Theatre’. The project and book have received a flurry of publicity and praise, including features on New Statesman, I-D, Esquire, Harpers Bazaar and many more. ‘Theatre’ includes essays by BA course leader Jim Campbell and Professor Mark Bower, a Consultant Medical Oncologist. Produced as a limited run of 100, it sold out within a few days of being made available to preorder. All profits donated to NHS Charities Together. This collaboration between a former student and current staff members is a wonderful example of UWE photography’s ethos and ongoing support to its students and alumni.
